Our new SPF50 Total Protection Face + Body Natural Sunscreen is suitable for the whole family, 2 hour water resistant and complies with the Australian and New Zealand Standard (AS/NZS 2604). Transparent zinc oxide provides the best, most extensive protection against UVB, UVAI and UVAII rays and is naturally broad spectrum. It works by forming a protective layer on the skin that reflects UV rays and starts working as soon as it is applied.
Because it is made with natural ingredients and no nasty chemicals it is super gentle and won't irritate or sting the skin so ideal for children and those with sensitive skin. Pure antioxidant-rich New Zealand propolis has been added for its amazing antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Perfect for those long days at the beach and outdoor activities like sports and gardening, however with protection this thorough it might not suit everyone who wears makeup (but will still protect you if you choose to).
Independently evaluated for Sun Protection Factor (SPF) according to the procedures specified in Australian/New Zealand Standard 2604:2012.
Apply liberally and thoroughly. Reapply every 2 hours or after swimming, exercising or towel drying and use in combination with other sun protection measures including sun protective hats, clothing, sunglasses and shade.
Suitable for the whole family.
Do not use this product if you have an allergy to propolis or any of the ingredients listed.
A: SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor. The SPF of a sunscreen is the measure of how well it protects the skin from sunburn. Sunscreens need to be applied liberally to achieve the SPF protection claimed on the label.
Q: What are UVA and UVB rays and how do they differ?
A: The sun emits two types of ultraviolet (UV) radiation that reach our skin: ultraviolet A (UVA) and ultraviolet B (UVB).
UVA rays penetrate the skin more deeply and damage skin cells in the basal layer of the epidermis and contribute to premature aging, wrinkles and may even start the development of skin cancer. They are present with relatively equal intensity during all daylight hours throughout the year, and can penetrate clouds and glass.
UVB rays are the main cause of reddening and sunburn and play a key role in the development of skin cancer. Intensity varies by season, location and time of day - in the summer months they are most intense between 10am and 4pm. At high altitudes and surfaces such as snow and ice, up to 80% of UVB rays are reflected back so they hit the skin twice.
Q: What is a broad spectrum sunscreen?
A: Broad spectrum sunscreens filter both UVA and UVB rays.
Q: Your sunscreen contains zinc oxide, will my face look white or is it really transparent?
A: Yes, our sunscreen is transparent. However, any product containing zinc oxide has some degree of whitening when first applied (which makes it really easy to see where you've been and where you've missed!). Once the product is absorbed any whitening effect should completely disappear.
Q: Do I need to apply abeeco sunscreen 15-20 minutes before going outside?
A: No, because our sunscreen is natural and works by forming a protective layer on the skin, it will protect you immediately once applied.
Q: Why are natural sunscreens more expensive than regular chemical sunscreens?
A: The price of ingredients in our natural sunscreen is significantly higher than the price of ingredients in chemical sunscreens. Most common sunscreens are made of relatively inexpensive synthetic chemicals which is why they are so cheap. Because chemical sunscreens are absorbed into the skin, this means you are exposing yourself to toxic chemicals which can be potentially dangerous to your health. We believe that the natural ingredients we use make our sunscreen better and safer, but they are also more expensive.
